Work Hard, Play Hard

Ernest Hemingway was one of the most influential writers of the 20th Century.  Although he is famous for the contributions he made to the literary community, he remains an iconic figure because of his life off of the page.

Let’s face it –  the man’s a legend.

He could do Anthony Bourdain’s job better than Anthony Bourdain.  Whether he was fishing in the Gulf Stream, bar hopping during the running of the bulls, or slaying puss on safari (see pic below), Hemingway was no stranger to adventure.

The exotic locales and revelry always came second, however.  Hemingway was endlessly devoted to his craft, working to produce some of the most influential prose ever written by an American author.

Be Like Hemingway was started to celebrate the charm, vitality, and work ethic that make Ernest Hemingway’s life and legacy so special .

  1. I’ve only recently started reading his novels but once I picked one up I couldn’t stop. I understand now and agree that he is a real legend. His personal life fascinates me too though so this website is a fantastic idea!
